Choosing trees for your Zone

First, discover your hardiness zone and consider your local growing conditions.

Then, choose trees and plants suited to your zone, checking each plant’s growing notes for specific requirements.

We grow right here in Hardiness Zone 3 in Central Alberta → cold climate growing is part of our everyday experience. We understand prairie winters and the importance of choosing trees suited to our climate.

You can filter by hardiness zone using the filters on the left-hand side of our collection pages, or shop by zone to narrow down your options.

A helpful rule of thumb: Plants hardy to Zone 2 are suitable for Zone 3 as well. However Zone 4 plants may not reliably survive Zone 3 winters.

Payment Methods

💚 E-Transfer (Preferred) - Fast, easy, and hassle-free! Simply complete your order online, and your trees are immediately reserved! e-Transfer details will be in your Order Confirmation email. This option keeps more funds local and we truly appreciate that! 🌱

💡 TIP! To see the e-transfer option, use the regular checkout (not Shop Pay, Apple Pay, or Google Pay).

Other Options:
Credit cards (Visa & Mastercard), Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments are secure and encrypted.

Shipping Costs & Methods

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout. We ship across Canada with Canada Post, taking great care to pack each order so your trees are well protected on their journey to you. We don’t offer free shipping, as we believe in doing things properly rather than cutting corners.

We now offer Expedited Parcels & Xpresspost

Please consider picking Xpresspost for orders going to more distant places (from us in Central Alberta) like the Maritimes, rural Quebec and rural Ontario.

Pricing averages for Expedited Parcels

AB - SK - BC between $30.00 - $50.00
MB between 40.00 and $60.00
ON - QC - Yukon - NWT - Maritimes between $55.00 and $80.00

Please note that these prices are averages and depend on Canada Post’s current rates. We strive to keep our shipping costs low and highly competitive within the nursery industry, regardless of your package size.

Spring shipping: Dates & Tracking

We ship our dormant, bareroot trees in spring, between late April through May. We will email you by April 15 to arrange a suitable shipping date.

You will receive a tracking email once your order is packed and the shipping label is created. We prepare orders ahead of their scheduled ship date and keep them in our cooling facility until they’re ready to go. Tracking updates will appear after Canada Post receives your parcel.

Combined orders will only receive one Tracking number.

Please monitor your tracking information and collect your parcel promptly!

Your trees have arrived! Now what?

Please monitor your tracking information and collect your parcel promptly upon delivery or pickup notice. These are living plants, so unpack and plant them as soon as possible after arrival.

Our planting guide, along with the printed guide tucked into your order, will walk you through their care and planting.

If something doesn’t look right, or if you have any questions → Please email us right away. We’re always happy to help, and getting in touch promptly gives us the best chance to help you and your trees.

Local Pick-Ups

Dear local friends, we're happy to offer pick-up! Simply select "Local Pick-up" at checkout, and we'll provide specific dates, times, and location details via email by early May. Please note that due to the busy season, we're unable to offer nursery tours at this time.

🌿 Kindly note, we are located in Two Hills County, Alberta - not Three Hills - and are about a 4,5 hour drive from Calgary; a 1,5 hour drive from Edmonton or Lloydminster.

Shipping to British Columbia

Yes, you can order directly from our website! We’ve created a dedicated Plants We Can Ship to BC collection featuring the trees, shrubs and fruiting plants that we are able to ship to British Columbia.

Because of strict CFIA plant health regulations, some plants cannot be shipped to BC, including certain fruit trees such as apples, pears, plums and cherries. These plants will not be available to add to your cart when ordering from BC.

🌿 The easiest way to shop: head to our Plants We Can Ship to BC collection and browse the plants available for your province.

If you have any questions or are unsure whether we can ship a particular plant to you, email us. We’re happy to help!

Sorry, but we do not ship to the USA
